Dear friends of Phlebology

On behalf of the German Society for Phlebology, I have the honor to invite you to the center of Germany for the 64th Annual Conference of the German Society for Phlebology from September 29th to October 1st, 2022, which will be held in presence and online to reach every corner of the world.

Venous insufficiency is a disease with a highest prevalence and serious consequences such as leg ulcer are of great economic relevance for the solidarity system. The same applies to chronic lymphedema and deep vein thrombosis and its sequelae, which often requires long-term therapy.
How to choose the right treatment from the many options for these patients? According to the socio-cultural environment, the skills of the doctor and the wishes of the patients? Choosing wisely means “Make smart decisions together”.

In addition to the main lectures, ultrasound courses for the superficial and deep leg veins, workshops on sclerotherapy and endoluminal treatment, as well as surgical techniques are offered. There will be joint meetings with German Vascular Surgery Societies, as well as with the French, the Polish, the Australian and the Egyptian Societies of Phlebology.

Secretary General of the German Society for Phlebology

16 to 18 September 2022, Istanbul

Dear Colleagues and Health Professionals

Lymphedema is not only secondary to cancer, but may also develop due to reasons such as venous insufficiency, lipedema, obesity, infection, or primarily due to congenital damage or dysfunction of the lymphatic system. Prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of lymphedema, which complicates the daily life activities of the person and causes deterioration in the quality of life due to the negativities caused by biopsychosocial aspects, is very important. In this regard, physicians (physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists, cardiovascular surgeons, plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgeons, general surgeons, surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, family physicians, pediatricians), physiotherapists, nurses, other health professionals (occupational therapists, psychologists, dieticians, social workers), medical companies and the pharmaceutical industry have very important duties.

For this congress, where we aim to share our knowledge and experience about lymphedema, learn what we do not know, reinforce our practical knowledge and skills in workshops, and reach the current evidence-based diagnosis and treatment approaches, we wish you to reserve a place in your agenda and be together.

We wish to meet you in Istanbul on 16-18 September 2022, and express our sincere love and respect.
